Today, by the renovated historical building of the Rīga French Lycée a Christmas tree was lit. Pupils of the Rīga French Lycée started this academic year in renovated rooms and now a 10-metre Christmas tree decorated with 300 bright LED lights was placed in the place of honour by the building.

‘Nothing is better for Christmas spirit than a Christmas tree decorated with bright lights in the darkest time of the year. And this Christmas, we, Moduls Engineering team, wish to give this Christmas tree to all pupils and teachers of the Rīga French Lycée. It will undoubtedly bring joy to all Rigans too,’ said Jevgeņijs Savčuks, Moduls Engineering Member of the Board.

In the Rīga French Lycée renovation project, SIA Moduls Engineering designed and installed the utility systems in the historical building ensuring modern environment appropriate for the studies and installed decorative façade lighting.

The building of the former French Lycée and French Institute at 48 Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street was built in 1930 based on architect I. Blankenburg’s design and using financing of the Rīga City Council, Latvian government and French Government. Until the end of 1930s it was a property of the Latvian-French Convergence Society. In the Soviet times it was Anrī Barbiss Secondary School No. 11 until 1951, Geography Department of the Latvian State University in the 1970s and Chemistry Department of the University of Latvia after that.
